West Kent Green Party

Links and Tips to help you Go Green!

To achieve a Green Society we need to gain the political power that can only come legitimately through the ballot box. But that isn't the whole story. There's still plenty of things you can do to lead a greener life, to make greener choices and to make a real difference. Here we list some of the things you can do. It isn't an exhaustive list but it will grow over time. If you have anything you would like to add, email us>

SAVE MONEY AND CARBON
Right wing ideologues like to pretend that "going green" is an expensive luxury. In fact, with fossil fuel prices set to increase year on year, taking measures to cut your fuel use and generate your own electricity makes perfect sense. Here's how one local Green Party member is quids in. Follow this link to find out out HOW>>

FILM REVIEW: Into Eternity
This is a quite extraordinary documentary about the effort of the efforts of the Finnish Government to create the world’s first permanent repository for nuclear waste in the bedrock of Finland at a place called Onkalo. Those involved in the project explain their work in English, attempting both to justify it and to anticipate any problems which might arise. Onkalo will take until about 2100 to finish and no one in the film attempts to put a figure on what this will cost. Inadvertently perhaps, those engaged in implementing this project provide one of the most powerful illustrations of why nuclear power should never be contemplated. The DVD of this film can be bought cheaply from a variety of internet sites. Strongly recommended.More information Here>
